Celebrating 30 Years of Life
I recently turned 30, and if you had asked my 20-year-old self where I'd be today, I would have pictured a completely different life. But looking back, I wouldn't change a thing. The past decade has been full of growth, adventure, and unexpected lessons.
I’ve moved from South Florida to Philly, to San Francisco, to San Diego, to Australia, and now back to Philly. I’ve had a dozen different jobs, half a dozen failed relationships, and one constant throughout all the change—yoga. I know I’ll look back on this decade as one of the most transformative periods of my life.
I rang in 30 in Bali, Indonesia. However, I wasn't celebrating at the beach clubs. I was in the middle of a 300-hour yoga teacher training where my day consisted of three hours of asana practice, an hour of pranayama, an hour of meditation, anatomy & philosophy lessons, and three fully vegan meals. The school even surprised me with chocolate cake after dinner to celebrate. It was perfect. Five days prior my football team won the Superbowl, and I couldn't help but feel optimistic about what the next decade holds (Go Birds!).
Now, feeling more connected to my higher self than ever, I’m reflecting on the biggest lessons from my twenties. Here are a few reminders in case you need to hear them.
